As i start my 40 minutes journey to Nairobi's Eastlands area thought were flowing on my mind over the recent occurrences in our country.

Are these the end of days like the pastor standing next to me keep saying? One day I'll tell this church people to shut the fuck up. Not that i hate what they are doing but because am one of those people who believe that not everybody need Christianity. More than 70% of Kenyans are Christians but we are still one of the most corrupt countries in the world. We are still a very tribal country and people go to church every Sunday.

Just in one day more than 60 people were butchered in Tana river delta. The previous day the Prime minister of Ethiopia Meles Zenawi had died. Few hours later the prime minister Raila Odinga told the BBC that he feared for an out break of ethnic clashes in the country. My question is why rush to judge other people when your own house has got a leaking roof. Did Mr. Odinga think that his country men and women are so perfect that such a thing as ethnic violence could not happen to his people. Next time he should make sure that he knows what is happening in his own country before going to tell the international community over his concerns for a neighboring country.

The violence in Tana River district and other parts of north eastern Kenya is a true indication of laxity in the intelligence body in our country.(NSIS) Where were they when people from one community was planning to attack the other community. They cannot claim that the attacks were spontaneous especially after the member of the massacred community had also attacked the now attackers.

In Kenya there is this habit of waiting things to happen then we go to the Media and tell them a full narrative of the events that had transpired to the tragedy. For example some times you watch the news and hear some who was in a car that caused an accident narating how reckless the driver was and yet they didn't do anything.

NSIS must have done to thinks according to me. they either didn't think the situation would be that volatile so they flt no need to inform the security organs to be on high alert. Two, is that there may be no NSIS in Tana river. The later is a very serious situation. It means that our country is left to the hands of criminals to decide our fate.

A woman being interviewed by the BBC said that they Orma and the Pokomo tribal elders have ways of solving issues of animal grazing on another persons farm. She said that these attacks cannot be said to be caused by pasture or grazing land and water because the rainy season had just ended. She said that incase animals got into another persons lands then the elders would confiscate the animals until the owners pays some fine. I believe the woman was right. She added that the violence this time must political. So the question is why would someone want to ascend to power by causing a blood birth.

It is very serious for more than 60 people to be killed in just one single attack. I strongly believe that someone in leadership has to take responsibility for what they did or failed to do. The PPO coast, OCPD tana river, PCIO coast and the DCs Hola, Tana river and a Garsen a districts need s to resign. If they really think that they are doign their work as required they should only step aside for investigations into what happened  can be complete.
